speaking is the process of speaking to a group of people in a
structured, deliberate manner intended to inform, influence, or entertain
the listeners. In public speaking, as in any form of communication, there
are five basic elements, often expressed as "who is saying what
to whom using what medium with what effects?"
The purpose of public speaking can range from simply transmitting
information, to motivating people to act, to simply telling a story.
Good orators should be able to change the emotions of their listeners, not just inform them. Public speaking can also be considered a discourse community. Interpersonal communication and public speaking have several components that embrace such things as motivational speaking, leadership, personal development, business, customer service, large group communication, and mass communication.
Public speaking can be a powerful tool to use for purposes such as motivation, influence, persuasion, informing, translation, or simply entertaining.
How to be a Public Speaking Star Ė Creating Self Help
writing your speech and preparing to give the speech it is important
that you use creativity. Creative words often look better than words
without creativity. During the process of writing the speech will need
to apply yourself thoroughly to write an effective speech.
You will also need to choose your thoughts carefully. As you work on the speech you will somewhere down the road need to choose your behaviors while giving the speech. If you lack confidence and have a bad attitude it will reflect on the audience.
You will also need to apply caution while writing the speech, as well as grasp an understanding of how you will present yourself to the audience.
One thing you want to keep in mind while considering the audience is thinkÖif you donít like it what makes you think these people will like it.
As for choices you want to make wise decisions, since your choices will reflect on your speech. If you make a bad choice, accordingly you will get negative results while presenting the speech.
You also want to search for the parts of your personality that will stand out in a crowd. Choosing your best sides will guarantee a good result. Try to think of treating the people the way you would like to be treated.
Choosing the words is also important. You want to choose words that are explainable, backed with verifiable facts, and so forth. This is important since if you write a speech that makes no sense the audience will likely leave the presentation area with a feeling of let down. Donít let these people down.
If you are worried about the day you are to give the speech, stop now. Worry about each day as it comes and never worry about tomorrow since you do not have any control over tomorrow. Plans are essential, yet none of us can guarantee our plans.p>Still, you must plan wisely. You know the day of your speech so plan accordingly. Planning is part of making a good decision.
Now you are ready to brainstorm. If you are writing your speech, you will need to write an outline by brainstorming and writing your thoughts on paper. Try writing your thoughts down on paper over the course of 10 minutes, writing as fast as you can. While you are writing your speech try not to worry about errors in your outline. Rather put those worries to good use as you write the original copy.
After you have written your thoughts on paper, continue to review the notes. Evaluate your thoughts as you move along and make good choices by controlling your thoughts instead of letting them control you. As you verbalize audibly you may become aware of misplaced works that may perhaps augment your speech. If you note these areas in the speech, accordingly write the thoughts down. Subsequently, you will evaluate and search for familiar areas in the content, i.e. look at the information and pull the sentences together so that it creates working sentences. The goal is in process at this point.
As you can see writing a speech requires creativity. If you donít have creativity and the ability to decide smart, you are on the road to failure. Get it right and keep it in motion. As you write your speech always keep your audience in mind. It is important that you practice often, prepare and review your speech daily to keep the mind fresh.
Reviewing, we can see we need plans, good attitudes, reviewing, effort and more to write a speech that will make everyone stand up applaud.
